We define justice as the fair and compassionate allocation of resources and
opportunities, focusing on reducing inequities and barriers and fostering inclusion.
Listening sessions are a vital tool for gathering anecdotal data on the personal and social concerns affecting residents in our community. These small group sessions, typically involving 10–12 participants, are held across our congregations and serve as the foundational step in our justice process.
Research is the second step in our justice process, where we delve deeper into understanding the scope of the issue. This involves conducting secondary research and collaborating with local organizations and subject matter experts. Utilizing Action Research Methodology, we aim to generate findings that inform actionable proposals, ultimately driving systemic or policy changes.
Nehemiah Action is our large-scale public gathering organized by our faith-based coalition to advocate for specific systemic changes and policy reforms. The term is inspired by the biblical figure Nehemiah, who boldly advocated against unjust practices and called for fair policies.
