OUR JUSTICE PROCESS

Justice

We define justice as the fair and compassionate allocation of resources and

opportunities, focusing on reducing inequities and barriers and fostering inclusion.

Listening Sessions

Listening Sessions

Listening Sessions

Listening sessions are a vital tool for gathering anecdotal data on the personal and social concerns affecting residents in our community. These small group sessions, typically involving 10–12 participants, are held across our congregations and serve as the foundational step in our justice process.

Research

Listening Sessions

Listening Sessions

Research is the second step in our justice process, where we delve deeper into understanding the scope of the issue. This involves conducting secondary research and collaborating with local organizations and subject matter experts. Utilizing Action Research Methodology, we aim to generate findings that inform actionable proposals, ultimately driving systemic or policy changes.

Action

Action

Nehemiah Action is our large-scale public gathering organized by our faith-based coalition to advocate for specific systemic changes and policy reforms. The term is inspired by the biblical figure Nehemiah, who boldly advocated against unjust practices and called for fair policies.

(Nehemiah 5:10-12)

Monitoring Phase

JUST uses a structured monitoring process to ensure public commitments result in real, measurable change. The process includes:

  • Regular follow-up meetings with officials

  • Documentation of meetings and commitments

  • Community engagement and updates to congregations

  • Clear benchmarks and progress tracking
