Mission: To empower faith communities to pursue justice together by responding to community problems and advocating for equitable policies and initiatives in Savannah-Chatham County.
Vision: Advancing justice and equity for all in Savannah-Chatham County.
JUST was founded in 2019 as Savannah Area Interfaith Justice Ministry through a partnership between several congregations in Chatham County. We were originally sponsored by the Direct Action Research and Training (DART) Center. Though we attempted to launch in early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed our initial plans. In 2020, we launched our first successful campaign to address affordable housing. In 2022, we added a cash bail and bond reform campaign. In 2023, we launched a public school literacy campaign. In 2024, we launched our latest campaign to address the mental health practitioner shortage in Chatham County, GA.
